Leading Private Telecom Company in India Bharati Airtel joins hands with Andhrapradesh State Government to launch E-Shakti to raise internet awareness of women in Andhrapradesh State under literacy mission with SERP.

Honorable Chief Minister of Andhrapradesh State Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the literacy mission of E-Shakti in Vijayawada district for women.

As per latest information from Andhrapradesh State Government sources, this new internet scheme would empower women to aware advance technology like email usage, browsing internet, streaming Youtube videos, booking railway tickets on IRCTC, Downloading apps of social media (Facebook ,Twitter), mobile banking etc. under Digital India scheme.

On this occasion Chief Minister of AP said, ‘Connecting the community and its members to the world through the Internet is becoming increasingly essential for community development and social progress. E-shakti will be an ecosystem of digital literacy awareness, education and training that will help the women folk of the state of Andhra Pradesh to take a lead in the global digital economy and help us shape a technologically empowered society. I am happy that Airtel and SERP have come forward with this noble initiative in an effort to empower women by making them digitally literate’.

AP Government aim is for starting this Literacy mission E-Shakti will educate women with various aspects of internet services so that they can use internet to improve their daily lives. Under this project AP Government has chosen women employees from government department, girls from Colleges and schools. In first phase AP Government introduced this program in two districts Visakapatanam and Vijayawada of Andhrapradesh state.
