IRCTC to set up New Servers for Tatkal Railway Ticket Booking

Indian Railways subsidiary IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) observing traveler problems for Tatkal ticket bookings responded very quickly. IRCTC striving for the travelers to set-up more new servers to able to easily book the Tatkal tickets online. In this connection IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director AK Manocha, speaking to media said, ‘We likely to increase number of servers from 5 to 10 for booking Tatkal tickets online’ for travelers.

Presently following 10 hours in the morning is receiving high traffic for tatkal ticket booking. All the travelers are visiting IRCTC website the same hours for ticket bookings at a time creating heavy burden on servers making jam. Hence, to overcome this problem IRCTC has decided to increase number of servers. In this way we hope trouble causing for Tatkal ticket booking online will drastically decrease, said.

At present 54 per cent tickets passengers been booked on the IRCTC website. Daily five to six lakhs tickets are selling online, the website recorded divesting minute 14,800 tatkal tickets being issued to passengers, said Chariman. Now, the tickets issuing may double after the number of servers increase.
